WINTER HAVEN, FL — Former Polk State College employee Terrell Elliston alleges he was fired after he refused to
hand over a document he was given at a meeting that was spied on by sheriff’s undercover detectives.
Elliston of Winter Haven, is a member of the civil rights organization Poor and Minority Justice Association. In Elliston’s lawsuit (Terrell Elliston v. Polk State College) which was filed in March in Tampa federal court, he alleges racial discrimination.
Elliston’s suit said he was fired from his job as a sports information coordinator after he wouldn’t hand over a piece of paper about Dream Defenders to his boss or to a Polk County sheriff’s captain who was assigned to the College.
